The Buckshot & Broads brand is owned and Trademarked by husband and wife, Chad and Melissa Anderson.
Buckshot & Broads was created from an idea Chad had while he was working part-time at a local farm store’s gun and sporting goods department in Springfield, Illinois in 2020. Customers would visit the gun counter and ask where the buckshot and broads were located. This was referring to the shotgun buckshot ammunition and broadheads for arrows. Our hats are for hunters who love to hunt with “Buckshot & Broads”.
In the summer of 2025 Jim Sorrells, who Chad has been friends with since the early 1970’s, expressed interest in investing in Buckshot & Broads. Sorrells suggested recruiting his former brother in law and high school friend of the two, Jay “Jay Bird” Bates into the idea as Bates already has a hat company named Lidsville Hat Company. Bates redesigned the brand and moved the hat into a hat/leather patch item. Wanting to move forward with a two-style hat, Sorrells again recruited another high school friend, Dawn Fairfield Megginson representing R&R Enterprises, who created the embroidery style hats.
